Instant Oatmeal ,Instant Ideas

Instant Oatmeal ,Instant Ideas

A Poem by Holly Mason

All around us are things worth telling about,
from the chair to the floor, lead with no doubt.
If you come up empty, try a different day,
nothing still there, then pull out the tray.
The tray of ideas floating around in your head.
They are still there, memories aren't dead.
The keyboard I type on gives me an idea.
To leave it would be so lonely, dusty for years.
I look down at the carpet colorless and stained,
worthy of writing how my family's insane.
The coffee mug looks like just a ceramic,
however, there was a day with the sunrise and hammock.
An heirloom looks down from a high placed shelf.
Given to you by grandma the gift of ones self.
Write about it, all the words will crash down.
No mind can be blank with an empty ,echo, sound.
Instant oatmeal is so easily prepared,
instant ideas, from your car to your hair.

I loved this poem! You made me laugh when when I read the part about writing how your family is insane. I can so relate! Good job.

That's true. You're right. Thanks :)

If that is the kind of inspiration oatmeal brings maybe I should start eating it. In the world of advancements they have made life easier but also made us more lazy. This is quite a creative poem, lots to think about.

I like this a lot. It flows along naturally. Well done... one grammatical issue... worthy of writing how my family's insane as opposed to families insane. :-) Cheers.

thank you much correction in place*)appreciate any reminders kinda catching up with life
but try not to get oatmeal in your hair.

you can't "instantly" get it out.
