Overnight Princess

Overnight Princess

A Poem by Holly Mason

The queen has taken her throne.
Not wanting to be alone.
She condemns six men to death.
Then picks the next not so fairy princess.

Looking down the line,
all of these ladies shine.
Maybe to bright, for our picky queen.
No princess will outshine her sheen.

Starting the questioning is easy.
Prospective princess pay attention to me.
Are you going to love your queen?
Answer right, my instincts are keen.

The first one goes then the next
and the next and the next.
Down to three now ,so easy to pick.
But which one will not be a hit.

The one who is awkward, strange and not pretty.
The not so fairy princess has been picked.
Then overnight does this princess blossom.
Stupid ,dumb, queen should of known she was awesome!

Reads like the mind of a child... Not sure I love it, but I can see it may have a place for a certain personality to find expression. That is a good thing. Everyone needs something they can relate to and this will do that for some very well.
