A moments notice

A moments notice

A Poem by Holly Mason

Haven't slept in the same bed for months.
Haven't said a word to eachother in two weeks.
You lay awake wondering what it all means.
The next morning the couch is empty.
Did you just see there were problems?
Are you blind, I think not.
The problems pile up,you put them aside.
This relationship has been a hell ride.
Now alone you sit and finally think.
Should of figured it all out sooner.
The signs were right there, blinking.
No talk,no affection,no holidays,equals no nothing.
There was more then a moments notice,
plenty of time to repair, love gave, give back.
Glancing at the stranger they hook you quickly.
Soon the new friendship turns to more.
Loving touches ,glances and a listening ear.
Year after year, you do everything together.
Haven't seen you together in awhile, lonely again?
When are you going to figure out it is more,
then a moments notice my friend.

People are blind by choice or from being self-consumed.

Nice read.
Very relate-able.

I've felt like in many situations I should have realized sooner and in others that the people around me, those I care for should have seen the obvious signs before them.

Like it.
