Broken Heart Palace

Broken Heart Palace

A Poem by Holly Mason

Opening soon...
Broken Heart Palace
rooms will be cheap
entertainment....none
pool area dirty and green
no complimentary offerings
nothing of the Hilton scene
no nice desk clerks
no extra towels for two
ice machine broken
dirty sheets for you
pay as you go...
with broken dreams
no credit accepted
we choose who stays
Broken Heart Palace
is in the remodeling phase

thank you fine lady
But does the bed have "Magic Fingers?" I might think about it if it does. Funny my friend, though pretty damn close to accurately describing how a broken heart feels. One only hopes the flashing neon sign reads, "No Vacancy."

thank you much
I know the poem was not literal in meaning,
but it just reminded me of all the hotels I stayed at when I was young, always traveling, and there was just HAD something wrong at each location haha.
Kind of helped me gain perspective on the Broken Heart bit, I can relate my childhood experiences now to emotional experiences.
Very well done, your poem opened something up inside me that I forgot was there.

haha I love it, alas, I fear I have already faulted on that one.
Many occasions over.
I have no words. I loved it!

The aftermath of this smashing allegory is a confusing time - I well know . There is chaos in the remodeling that you have to make sense of.
I love this piece.
