Fantasy Ball

Fantasy Ball

A Poem by Holly Mason

come one come all to the fantasy ball
open doors shinning with things old and new
the pulpit is empty, so is the pew
streets are unwinding with this lightning affair
even the squandering elite will all be there
stage coaches cleaned, horses so many
all who are here spent every last penny
the music is loud, pure and strong
knowing no words we all sing along
the tasteful cuisine is something we cherish
for it is all worth it tonight if we perish
the dresses so grand,beauty undefined
never leaving the dance floor to search for wine
along comes a path that can be taken by all
for tickets are free to the fantasy ball

as long as the carriages don't turn into pumpkins...

and cinderella doesn't get to drunk and lose both shoes.

fun poem..think you meant " open doors shining with things old and new"

but yes, will everyone come to the party? will the elite mingle with the poorer crop?

if only.

glass slippers break so easily.

What a deep poem. I think all of lives in some way are not what we want it to be. :)

thank you much for reading appreciate it
Ahhh this is so soothingly deep when you think about it. The Ball is a wonderful metaphor for life as a whole and how we act and interact. A lovely read
