Poetic Shorts (a part 2 of something)

Poetic Shorts (a part 2 of something)

A Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)
"

Written at the Cleveland Water Lantern Festival of 2021... hope I did well, considering they were slightly rushed. Lol Light was my theme, so I wrapped my muses in it, and ran!

"
Part 1
Till It Reaches The Shore

Let me set this heart
upon these carrying waves;
pivoting neath sun and moon,
searching for your shores...
set alight a lantern
against the darkness of doubt,
and guide it home.

(For a Jersey girl)

Part 2
City Lights

The avenues of my soul
laid in darkened ruin...
you marched down my boulevards
casting spells of love and delight,
in the echoes of our laughter
the skyline came alive...
and every light belongs to you.

(For a Cleveland chick)

You take me there to you town and shore. I see the light and feel the longing. Fantastic.

Thank you, Pryde. I'm thankful that my words are so affecting.
Loved this! Part 2 did it for me. I can't explain it, but i sense a promise of redemption. A realization that love can indeed cure all.

Travis, this is wonderful, and if I had to choose which one I liked the best, I couldn't. I must say, the Jersey girl and the Cleveland chick deserve kudos. Anxious to know if there'll be more "shorts" to follow.
