Poetic Shorts

A Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)
"

Less can sometimes be more.

"
Part One:

She Leads

she moves like thunder
set to music...
in her hand
my spirit trembles
through the tango,
hoping she doesn't notice-
it never learned to dance

Part Two:

Alcoholic

A Pink Moscato smile
sits you down
and pours you a cup
of Hennessey eyes-
pure intoxication
sip her slowly...
rehab is gonna be a b***h

I liked this poem. The Hennessey kiss from a pretty lady. Make the night sweeter and longer. Nice closure to the amazing poem Travis.

Okay, Travis, I really, really like this allegory.
Love is like getting off of the bottle. The spirit doesn't know that it can recover, and rehab can be really tough, but the spirit can shine once more, the heart can love again...even as we come back from
long benders of pain and discouragement in matters of love.

Lawsy' that poem just slid right along from Ms. Dickenson right into Mr. Bukowski's lap. Not a bump tween the slump and the hump. Gotta love that one. Thank you so much for sharing.
