A beauty rooted in her agenda
The impending consequence Of another's severe lapse in judgment Pitted two strangers squarely in Destiny's hand And the pointed winds of fate Hurled speeding metal and misfortune On the boozed breath of the unthinking Into the blind lap of one so unaware Frailty is swept neath a shrieking metallic avalanche A brutal marriage of metal and butterfly wings Delicate skin and bone stagger, but fight Neath heated metal and burning rubber Butterfly wings flutter faintly A life walks an edge its never seen And a spirit drowning in pain Struggles with incessant questions of why Metal broke bone, rubber burned finespun skin And still, in the widening shadow of the crow A butterfly ate fire and will live to tell of its taste Impossible survival, tattoo'd on butterfly wings © 2014 Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)Author's Note
