Gated PerspectivesA Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)Another collaborate effort of Cassie and myself.
-Her Perspective
Briskly, I walk along this smooth, dry road That seems to have no end Not even the scorching sun Or the waft of adjacent trees Seems to change the bearing Of my trail of thoughts I hasten my steps Half walking, half running Determined to reach that gate And still... My mind, body and soul Is on you -His Perspective For too long, This road has teased my feet And that gate, where love Promised its return... Mocks my efforts My waning heart suffers every step These foolish hopeful feet take Will my love again ever be But a step away Peering from beyond the fence Shall this road Prove to be my dusty end The grave of this waiting heart My love make your promise kept Silence that ridiculing gate And gift me your return © 2014 Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)Author's Note
