Insanity Falls

Insanity Falls

A Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)
"

driven crazy by love

"
cerebral trappings
of self-perpetuating delirium
leaves me far-flung
from normalcy's door

still pictures embedded in fallacy
torture a bustling mind
a spiraling head trip
going nowhere (but in circles)

familiar voices creep up
a crooked back, whispering
sweet machinations lacking endings
further fueling madness

shadowed consciousness drape
a honeyed valentine, gone
living only in brokenness
enchained by illness and heartache

insanity falls
screaming as it lands
lost love haunting peace
white walls gleefully play doctor

Your own writing style came through so strongly in this piece it's really incredible. The way the words fall and the parentheticals are so important really suit you. The feelings of the piece came straight from the page to me, and were made more intense in the way you arranged them.
Thanks for the wonderful read.

Your review is humbling and inspiring.
You have no idea how much I felt this...straight to the mind and heart. Your words paint the darkest portrait of one who is driven mad by love and heartbreak. Perfect...

I'm glad it had such an affect. I thank you for leaving me with a lovely review.
We are all plagued by our memories and unfortunately for some the bad out weigh the good and our subconscious has a horrible way of putting these memories on loop for us to endure leading to a dark place....however it's how we manage these situations that makes us who we truly are. Normal...no far from it but the uniqueness of who we are is what counts.

Nice write

So very true... Thanks for an outstanding review.
You have captured the torment some memories can create - haunting, yes....dark...definitely. Love is never easy.
The emotions in your poem felt "real". Brilliant writing.

Thank you, Julie. I appreciate your humbling thoughts as much as I do your visit.
Memories can and do haunt a person. They disturb our serenity and block the pathway to "normalcy's door." Actually, is there a room where all the normal people live? If so, it would quite a boring venue if you ask me. The emotions dance in this write and are expressed in free flowing thought. Wonderful work. Lydi**

It must be boring indeed. What's the fun of being normal? Lol thank you for a lovely review, Lydia.
There's a door to normalcy, who knew? We're all a tad insane as poets, those white walls can be utterly overwhelming at times. Your delirium is quite fascinating Travis, loved it from first word to last. Bravo sir.
