Help Me RememberA Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)This is my first piece ever written, in Grammar school. It is 1 of 3 of my pieces that are most dear to me. They are the only works of mine that was physically read by my father before his passing.
Father,
Help me remember, Your firm but gentle touch. Help me remember, Why you loved me so much. Help me remember, When in the dark, how the moonlight blanketed your face. Help me remember, When at dinnertime, I always saved your space. Help me remember, How you once laced my shoes. Help me remember, How you once told me, "always repay your do's." Help me remember, The protection of your strong voice. Help me remember, How you once told me, "a man makes his own choice." Help me remember, How you were there in my time of need. Help me remember, How, when you left, my heart started to bleed.
