Holding You Close

Another early piece... written when I was 17.

no words are used

our bodies have spoken...

yet we continue,

seems like our emotions

wanted to communicate all the long

our bodies shout a sweet chorus

and our souls orchestrate the song,

our hearts desire to dance

as we move about each other...

so we squeeze---

until we become one another

we are united

and soar to depths

that have yet to be piloted...

i am what you are

and you are what i was

and just for a fraction in time---

everything that was

ceases to be that surrounded us

and the only thing

that could survive...

was love

Thank you for such a sincere and lovely review. At 17, I had just began to write creatively, being more of an essayist at the time. I had written only a few other pieces before this one, my first poem I wrote at 15.
