Totally Naked

Totally Naked

A Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)
"

seeing her deep pain

"

my eyes have set sight

on the endless beauty

that rests underneathh your expensive coverings

my hands were given the permission

to trace the contours of your heavenly shape

you've allowed my tongue

to taste the sweet forbidden fruit of your eden

every fiber of my being has been set ablaze

by the mere smell of the alluring fragrance

that blankets your skin

even my ears have been brought to dance

by the harmonious sound of your tender voice

but yet, my soul starves for more

i desire to see what lies below

the beauty that is you

what holds it all together---

i must know

so as my gift to you

i bare all that i am... body and soul

you allow me access into your inter-realm

but as my soul plumets to the center of your being

i notice something is different

inside isn't as bright as outside

your soul isn't as giving

as your magnetic eyes or your timeless smile

it's much more guarded

so in the name of love, i offer out my hand---

it rejects me

it goes to seek comfort in the shadows even more

as my last desperate attempt not to lose you

i extend out to it the arms of sincerity

in reaction, you drop the veil that covered your soul

but you still stand in the darkness

i beg you, not to come to me

but come into me

let our souls breathe as one

my spirit flooded with anxiety

as you approached

but as your true appearance became clear

another feeling over came me

my eyes began to swell

a knot developed in my throat

now i know the reason your soul guarded itself so

and i hate it

i detest the evil of men

for the crimes they committed against you

how could they wound and scar your soul

and not even attempt to mend your heart

how could they act so ignorant

that they crack the foundation of your being

why did you intrigue me so

why did i hunger to see your soul

you've brought a pain on me i've never experienced

and at the same time,

a privilege i'm honored to recieve

so as i grasp your soul with all of my gentleness

i can shed a tear--- and bare a smile

you did nothing i didn't ask of you

feeling your soul and the pain it has endured

is the curse of the gift you gave to me

cause now, in your world

i'm the only man who has seen you truly

and totally...

naked

Simply breathtaking...your words never cease to amaze me. There's such an honesty in them, they allow the reader to have a beautiful glimpse into your mind. I am, once again, appreciative to you for sharing. I hope to one day be able to have this experience of baring all to a man who can bare all in return. Lovely piece (:

"what holds it all together..."

yes, a great line...and i like this poem lots...the idea of "naked" having to do with much more than just lack of clothing...but baring what is inside too...

This is so very beautiful and compelling. You have a beautiful way of putting your emotions down into words that kept me hanging on each word of the story until the very last.

A powerful poem. We will allow few to see who we really are. Naken and no fear of what can come next is a rare time in any life. I like the complete poem. The story took me in and you held me to the last word. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.

Very good piece. A complete smaller story that belongs to a larger whole. Your feelings always come through clearly. This picked up steam as it went and the second half is quite outstanding in wording and phrasing.
