![]() The OfferingA Poem by Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)![]() love, after heartbreak![]() excuse me... hello there you, yes, you Ms. i wanted to know if i could take a minute of your time you see, i've been watching you for quite some time now no, please... don't be alarmed see, there is something of great importance i want you to have if you'll take it, that is why don't i keep it that's the issue i've discovered, its not built for me to keep i've tried to tend to it but, it only seems to shrink and its becoming as hard as stone there was once a bright light inside of it it burned brilliantly with great heat now... its cold and colorless why you well, it's hard to explain but, i'll try the other day, while i was passing through you were busy with something and your foot brushed mine we exchanged excuse me's you smiled and turned away it was then, that exact moment... it moved it hasn't moved--- since i stole it back no, no... don't leave allow me to explain it isn't really mine i keep it for safe keeping but as i said earlier it isn't built for that let me show you you see how dim and cracked it is it's become pitch black... from no light getting in or out touch it... feel how cold it is it's passed through quite a few hands and as you can tell, its been dropped... a lot i couldn't bare to see it stepped on or stepped over like trash any longer so, i picked it up... and ran i hid it deep so the world wouldn't find it but thats when it started dying thats why you must take it show it the world like i never could let it see the sun shinning on a rainy day make it believe in love... just once more take it... i know you will fill it back up with life give it purpose again it may be a bit broken, but trust me... it wants to live and i'm dying to see sunshine through all this rain © 2013 Travis Gibson (poetic heroics)Author's Note
