Fateful Night

Fateful Night

A Poem by Hannah D
"

People can try and tell you what is right and what is wrong, but only you can decide for yourself. Many people succumb to other people's wishes or values, and they might end up regretting their choice

"
A piece of me is gone,
Gone without a trace,
Gone without a warning...
Leaving nothing but my face.

My innocence was gobbled,
Showing the empty plate.
I thought I could save it,
But found...it was too late.

Part of me will regret
Giving it away,
To one who won't remember
Of that eventful day.

Part of me will value
The experience as a whole.
For one to understand the cost,
One must understand their soul.

I did not understand,
That mixed feeling is here to stay.
I have a lesson to teach
My future children someday.

People can try to tell you
What to choose or say
They'll try and make your choices
So problems seem to go away

People can try to tell you
What is wrong and right.
But only you can decide
On that fateful night.
