The Train

The Train

A Poem by HB Rita

Some people look out the window
While nature transformed in to a dreamland with greens
Some people see the transparent blue sky
covers with clouds
Two sparrows dance with joy
Next to the window where lonely couple are sitting
This is how the train runs everyday
With loads of diversity
Some people take the opportunity to get in
Some lost their way
Sparrows fly out of interest after hunger prevention
Still, The hopeless people wait for the last train.

Author's Note

HB Rita
The Train is a metaphor here. We need to ride on the train to get to our destination on time. If we are careful, we don't sleep and we never miss our station to get down. We reach to our destination on time. Not necessarily everyone is awake while their journey. Some might fall asleep and they are the one who miss the station. Some are irresponsible and lazy, they could never get the train to get on. They are hopeless and wait again on the platform for the next train.

The train as a metaphor for life. Interesting concept here. I like especially the part about those who fall asleep during the ride. What we do with our attention is one of the most important facets of our lives. Many people look only at life's surface, and these are the ones who are asleep.

Nice travel sitting inside the train. Sometimes, happenstances and unexpected love happens inside the trains between strangers. Fanciful passion in the lines.

Seeing that you are in the noble profession of teaching (thank you for that), I will cut you some slack for your pedantic explanation in authors notes. Your message stands on its own & I'm just one of those who prefer to let the reader have their own unique experience reading me, rather than imposing my intent. In this way, I discover new meanings in my message that never occurred to me. But I do appreciate everything you explain about you poem & I love the metaphor. Your poem is the best part, too! Happy Easter to you & yours (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I like this, it seems like the train will never stop moving, which also makes it seem like we can take a quick nap, and then boom. Months go by, years.

Thanks for the review :)
many people end up at the crossroads of their lives...which way will we take the train?

Here is what this reminded me of..."Hills like White Elephants" by Hemingway and how the narrator says at one point..."they were all waiting reasonably for the train"--
a story about being at the crossroads to make a decision....
and some folks...the train definitely leaves with out them...
so we have people waiting reasonably and others waiting hoplessy.

Thank you for your review.
Many people are going to read this an not even understand. I read it and saw a mental picture of two birds looking down on the people that fail/fall and stay down, the people who get up and try again, and those that never try to begin with.

I want...no I strive and will be the person that keeps getting up after they fall!

Yet again a great poem and very inspirational. I feel like you are wiser than your years.
