Chapter Sixteen

Chapter Sixteen

A Chapter by Roxii

Everything was going perfectly. Her entrance was fabulous, her cake was delicious, the dancing was fun, and everything was just so awesome! Nothing could have made this day any better.

I was walking around, just making sure everything stayed perfect, but then the trumpets went off.

"What?" I said, confused; there was no more speaking for the Queen to do. The feeling that I had before was the strongest that it has ever been.

The sound of the microphone went off, and everyone was facing the Queen on stage.

"Um, hello everyone. I need to make an announcment." The Black Queen seemed really nervous.

"What the hell is she doing?!"

As everyone stared at the Queen, I stood there completely confused.

"Okay," she started off, "I have been ruling over all of you for ... quite some time now, and it has been some of the best times in my life ... but not the best-best, I mean, I have had some loyal staff, great luxeries, and an awesome right-hand woman." She turned to me as we smiled at one another.

"The thing is is that I am getting tired of it. I kinda want my old life back. Someone special today showed me that old life, and I really miss it."

The feeling that I've been having is still getting stronger and I think I know why ...

"So," she said, then she ran off the stage with the mic, right to my side, "I want to say ... I'm giving up my throne!"

    Everyone was stunned and gasping.

"Oh, don't worry, I am giving up my throne to someone else, someone who would want to deal with all of the hardships, the work, the responsibilities, that kind of life; Meelah!"

As everyone was even more shocked, Meelah ran on the stage and laughed an evil laugh.

"Thank you all so very much. I have enjoyed being your Queen."

She dropped the mic, grapped my hand, and smiled.

"You ready to run off all dramatic-like?"

I looked at her for a moment and then I smirked.

"Absolutely ... Skye. It's nice to finally have you back."

Without letting my hand go, we both ran out of the courtyard to a car that was waiting for us. Before we left, Chris, one of the guards, whisteled. We turned around and he was winking and smiling at Skye! She let go of my hand and went over to him, she looked him in the eyes and asked him if we would come with us. He said that he would love to, but he couldn't. He has a job to do and he hasn't fulfilled it yet. He told her to come back in a year and leaned toward her and kissed her on the lips. He held her face in his hands and gave her the most romantic and enthusiastic kiss that anybody has ever seen. She seemed to melt in his arms, and I knew, just by that kiss, that he loved her and that she loved him too.

"Please come with me." She practically begged.

    "I want to."

"Then come with me. You can't just kiss me like that and expect me to leave without you. You would have to be crazy."

"My Que-I mean Skye, what about my responsibility here?"

"Your responsibility was to make sure that I was safe, while I was queen. But you don't have to do that anymore, at least as Queen. Please, Christopher, come with me." I could see tears forming and one slip down her cheek; she was pleading with all of her might.

"Can I ask of one thing?"

    "Yes."

"Can I have your love, while you have mine?"

    "Really?"

"I would never tell you a lie, my love. For the whole time and before you were Queen, I was in love with you. I was never able to say it to you before. And when you announced that you were with Bradley, my hope was lost. I kept telling myself that I had missed the only chance to be able to be yours. And then I heard about what he did to you and I personaly buried him with a smile on my face. Since I wasn't able to say it before, I am going to say it now; I love you, Skye."

I saw the tears stream down her face when he said this; it touched her heart and made all of the previous pain go away and be forgotten for the rest of her life. She has found her one true man ... her one true love.

He wiped her tears away from her face and held it, looking deep into her eyes. He leaned into her, making their noses touch. She closed her eyes as he whispered beautiful things to her and to her only. He kissed her once again and then he nodded his head yes.

She smiled the biggest smile that anyone ever could see, and Chris's was similar. When they parted, they held hands and walked over to me.

"Well, if that wasn't the most romantic thing that I have over seen, nothing is." I said.

Skye and Chris both blushed a deep crimson and then she said, "He is coming with us. Mackenzie, you need to go get Ethan. I am not going to seperate you two anymore; that was way unfair of me."

    "Okay. I'll be right back."

I started to look for him, but I couldn't find him anywhere. He was nowhere to be seen in the courtyard or in the castle. I raced to his cabin to see if he was there. When I looked in the window, I saw the most horrorfying thing possible. there he was, in his bed, with another girl with him. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. But somehow, I knew. I just did. But I never would of expected who it was with ... Nora. One of my good friends that I thought I could trust is in there f*****g my boyfriend. I started to sob and I guess they heard me becaue they both turned in my direction. Ethan and I locked eyes for a moment and then I ran away, ran away back to Skye, wanting to get out of here as soon as possible, not wanting to spend one more second here in this God-forsaken place.

When I got back to Chris and Skye, they were looking at me like someone died.

    "Where's Ethan?" Skye asked.

    "He's not coming with us."

    "Why?"

"Because I saw him and Nora in his cabin ... you can kinda guess the rest."

"Oh ... My ... God ..." She said with the most shocked expression. Her shocked looked quickly turned to plain fury.

"Can we just leave ... please?"

"We are leaving right now. I have everything in the trunk of the car. Clothes, food, everything." Chris said.

"Alright," I began, "Let's get the hell out of here.

"Do we know where we are going to go?" Asks Chris.

"Well," skye begins, "how about we all go back home and visit ... I really miss my family."

"I do too, actually. I never really thought about it much before now." I agreed.

"Okay," Says chris, "I like that idea. I miss Tiny the most."

    "Who's Tiny?" Skye asks.

"She's my dog. I haven't seen her in years."

There is a hint of sadness in his voice but he quickly recovered before anybody really noticed.

"Everybody in the car. I'm driving!" Skye swings the car keys around her finger and flaunces around the car as she goes to the driver's side. Chris smiles at her and before she could open her door, he opens it for her.

"You don't have to do that anymore you know." she tells him.

    "I know I don't have to; I want to."

Skye smiles and thanks him while she gets in the car. Chris walks over to where I am and opens my door for me as well.

    "Thank you." I say.

    "Your welcome."

With everybody now in the car, we head out and away from our old lives and head back to the one place that we truly belong; home.

i loved how you have ended the story in such an unexpected way. the queen, leaving her life as a queen and chose to be a normal girl for her love, they have become friends as before after one was the master and the other was the servant. i loved the sequence of events throught the story, i loved how you made the reader waiting to know what would happen next..thank you for the great nice work..i have read this before but this time i felt it is so much more organized so i consider the first edition was a draft..
keep on the nice work..
