Chapter Fifteen

Chapter Fifteen

A Chapter by Roxii

That night, when I went to bed, I got this feeling. I couldn't tell if it was a good feeling or a bad feeling, but either way, it was a feeling. I honestly thought it was going to be a long night, like I was going to lay in bed awake all night, and what would feel like twenty minuted would actually be only five. Suprisingly, when I closed my eyes, I felt they had only been closed for a moment, and then it was morning.

I lay flat on my back, staring at the ceiling. The feeling had gotten very strong over night, and its strength was suprising.

My head turned to the right as I read the clock. It read 9:30 a.m. ... it is time.

As I flung the sheets off of me, I slipped on my silver high-heels. I had slept in only my undergarments so I could just slip on my outfit quickly; lace seemed like a good choice to sleep in for such an occasion.

I had half an hour to get myself ready and presentable. The Queen requested to be woken at ten o' clock, so, I walked over to my vanity, straightened my hair, did up my eyeliner, smoothed on some lipgloss, then headed to my closet. For the Queen's party, I was wearing a short gray dress. It was sleeveless, tied down the back, and it had a matching necklace and tiara. I wasn't going to show up the Queen though, so the heart-shaped necklace had a small stone and the silver tiara was small with a fake jewl.

My watch gave me a five minute warning, and I grabbed my clipboard as I headed to the kitchen to grab the Black Queen's breakfast.

On my way down, I could see workers setting up everything and gettign ready. They all seemed so tense and edgy, but also happy. Well, at least I'm not the only one.

When I got to the kitchen and walked through the door, I was completely stunned.

    "Oh! Good morning Mackenzie."

    "Ummm ..."

I was stunned because, there, standing over the stove, cooking her own breakfast, was the Queen herself. She wasn't even dressed yet.

    "Ummm ... wha-"

    "I made you breakfast too."

"Oh ... wow! I haven't seen you up before me in a long time, let alone cook for yourself."

Smiling, I sat down at the counter as she put a plate of eggs in front of me. Then, she flipped some more eggs onto another plate and sat down across from me.

"You heinece, you hadn't needed to do this. I was going to bring you your meal anyway. I mean, this is very nice, and may I add very delicious," I said as I took a bite, "but you really didn't have to."

She just looked at me for a moment, and then smiled as she shoved some more eggs into her mouth.

"Look, I know I didn't have to; I wanted to. I woke up and told the Chef not to take care of me this morning. I want to take care of myslef today." The Black Queen had a big smile spread across her face, and I was happy for her. I honestly hadn't seen this Skye since ... well, before her ruling.

"Are you sick because if so, we can get you a doctor."

She smacked at my hand as I pretended to reach and feel her forhead. We both laughed and smiled and ate, That was pretty much how the rest of breakfast went.

After we ate, she asked it I would help her do the dishes. So, we did them. By the time we were done, it was already 1:30. Well, we talked for a really long time, so I should have guessed we wouldn't be done till about this time.

"Well," the Queen started, "wanna come and help me get ready?"

I smiled as I answered, "Absolutely."

We decided that she should shower first, so as I waited for her to be done, I picked out her outfit. When she opened the bathroom door, a cloud of steam filled the entire room, then she walked out, wandering where I was.

"Hey," I called from the closet, "how does this look?"

The outfit that I had chosen was a floor lenght dress. It had rips and patches. Little designs and lots of stitching. It was mainly black, but extras were white. Then, the cape was white, but had black fluff in the front. It also included her black ruby necklace from the very first day of her ruling, the same crown from that day as well, her favorite headband, and her silver seith that was topped with a glistening black solid crystal ball. Oh! It also included elbow-length fishnet black gloves.

the look on the Queen's face was priceless. She smiled as she gasped, "Oh my gosh, Mackenzie! I love it!"

I smiled with my hand on my hip as I said, "I was hoping you would."

Bafore she got dressed, I did her makeup for her, making sure her eyeliner was fantastic (on the account that I can be pretty awesome when it comes to eyeliner). After, she got dressed, and then I teased her hair; she looked amazing.

"Hmmm ... Ah! One more touch ..."

I grabbed her headband and put it on her.

    "Well, how do I look?"

I took a step back, looker her up and down, and then I spoke, "You look completely perfect, my Queen. Just like always," we both smiled, "Oh! It's time!"

"You go on ahead, I have to do a couple of things first. I'll be down there shortly."

I looked at her, nodded my head, and then headed for the door.

Before I left I said, "Happy birthday my Queen."
