Chapter Twelve

Chapter Twelve

A Chapter by Roxii

The next day, I woke up startled as my cell phone rang. With cold sweat matting my hair to my face, I picked up the phone to check the caller I.D.

    "The Queen," I whispered.

I was a little afraid to answer it at first. The Queen and I had not spoken for many hours, but I had to answer, whether I wanted to or not.

"Hello and good morning your majesty." I choked out the words as best as I could, hoping to hide the hysteria.

"Hello Mackenzie," she said in a firm tone, "I seemed to notice that you had skipped out on our little meeting last night."

-Oh s**t!- I thought to myself. How could I have forgotten?

"Oh jeez! I am so sorry Sky- ... I mean, your heiness. I completely passed out. Thyself is very sorry. Please forgive me ...?"

The line was quiet for a moment, but then the Queen's soft, evil giggle slipped out.

"It is fine," she said with a smile in her voice, "Bradley ended up joining me instead, so it was better that you passed out."

I, myself, could only imagine. The image of the Queen and Bradley was in my head. Them, in the kitchen, kissing, more like tongue-wrestling, as she leaned up against the counter, with Bradley leaning closely against her. Bradley slowly sliding his hands down her sides until he reaches her a*s. That's when I shook my head, trying to keep the scene away from my thoughts; that's something that I dont't ever want to see.

"Well, umm, alright then. Would you like to tell me how your night went with him, or do you prefer me to stay out?"

"Well, you've already accidently see me having sex with him." It sort of shocked me that she just came out and said it, "I'm sure you've already got an idea of what went on."

Oh boy, did I! I'm, pretty sure that my thoughts are correct too.

"Well, enough chit-chat," the Queen said with an octive-up tone, "my party for my 18th birthday party is tomorrow. I'm sure you have got those plans organized and ready?"

"Oh yes, indeed my Queen," I had worked out the final touches during lunch with Alexx, "everything is set up and ready for you."

In the background of the Black Queen's end of the line, I could hear a door open, and Bradley's voice echo through the room.

"Umm, well, that is all for now, Mackenzie, umm ... I'll-talk to you later."

"I get it, your heiness. Good bye."

Then, I shut the phone. As I sat in my bed for a moment, I realized that ... I didn't care that Kristina was dead. The worst part about it? I felt more happiness that I did guilt about it. Then, I climbed out of bed to get dressed as a huge grin spread across my face, and I knew that, somewhere in this castle, Skye was smiling a huge grin as well.
