Chapter Eight

Chapter Eight

A Chapter by Roxii

It was after lunchtime now and the Queen requested lunch before her nap to have afterwards. When I went to the kitchen, the chef had told me that she reconsidered before her nap.

"So I'm not supposed to make her meal now?" I asked the chef.

"Nope. She said that she wasn't hungry anymore and that she would be too busy anyway."

I was cinfused. The Queen didn't have anything planned for the day.

    "Huh," I said, "odd."

    "What is it ma'am?"

I looked at the chef and smiled.

"Nothing at all. You get yourself back to work now and I'll see you at dinner time." No use in worrying the chef.

I turned away and headed for the queen's chamber.

"Oh!" I gasped. I turned around, grabbed a crystal glass and filled it with purified water.

"The Queen prefers a drink when she wakes. Might as well have it ready for her as soon as she wakes."

I turn the water off, set up straight, and curtseyed as the chef bowed. Next, I am walking out of the door as a strange essence follows.

The Black Queen's chamber was always so easy to find. The castle may be big, but when you get to know it, things become easy to find.

I walked by the cart that was left from before and decided to grab a silver platter. It may seem quite silly to use a platter just for a cup of water, but it is not silly for royalty as beautiful and graceful as our Sk- ... I mean, our Queen.

When I got to the door, that weird essence is at its strongest. I push the feeling aside and put on a smile.

"Your heinece." I say as I knock lightly on her big doors. But, I hear nothing. Well, she must be sleeping, I think. I decide that I might as well go in because she was probably sleeping.

So, I open that door, hold up the silver platter, and grip my planner close to my chest.

"Your ... Hie ... nece ..." I then gasp as my eyes go wide and stop dead in my tracks. Then, the silver platter drops from my hands, and it seems like hours before I hear the crash of the platter hit the floor, and the crystal glass shatters and its clear liquid pools around my black heels. Automatically, the Black Queen's head snapped up with horror-struck eyes ... and so did her company's.
