Chapter ThreeA Chapter by RoxiiThe city walls, all covered in black, Avril Lavigne music blaring from hidden speakers all around, the roads painted lime neon green, and a black carpet led to the University Park Mall. Once we were there, we were confused, what was going on? Who did all of this? Questions that were flooding everyones minds. Then, out of nowhere, the lights went out. It was pitch black and I could feel the cold steel against my wrists. Soft, maniac laughter, at first soft and gradually getting louder, filled the entire mall. "Yes," we heard softly, "Yes, it's all mine. I win; I finally win!" Finally, the lights turn back on, and there she stood. Hair spiked into golden-blonde thorns, nails black, eyes framed with black make-up with dramatic blue eyes. Her outfit? That didn't matter, but still. She wore a tight black short-sleeved shirt with a black ruby necklace, a frilly black skirt with torn net leggings, and to top it all off, black combat boots, a black cape with a diamond-encrusted "S" placed in the middle. Last but not least, a gold crown with, who would of guessed, black reinstones. She watched over us as we were being taken away, and I couldn't believe this was her doing. "SKYE!" I yelled, hoping she could hear me, and she did. Automatically, her shinning blue eyes met my sparkling hazel eyes. She looked at me with a straight face at first, not wanting to show emotion. But she was my friend, and I was hers. "Why," was all I could manage at first, but I kept pushing, "Why are you doing this? We're you friends, your family, I'm your friend! Skye, why?!" She looked comfused by the question. Caring and kindness was displayed on her face. The quards were yanking at my arms, but I refused to budge. "It'll be okay," she said softly, "you won't be treated as bad as the others, I promise Mackenzie." The kindness disappeared from her face and the look of a leader took over. "But this is how it is, I, Skye Turco, am leader now." She paused to think for a moment and continued, "and things will now go my way." She turned around with a fierce stance. I stared after her, and her stance laid low for a moment. So finally, she stopped, turned, looked me dead in the eyes, and softly said, "I'm sorry." I was then immediatly pulled from her gaze to be put to work, and that was the last time I truely saw my friend, not the Black Queen ... but my best friend, Skye. © 2013 Roxii |
