Look Through My Eyes

Look Through My Eyes

A Poem by Roxii

Look through my eyes and tell me what you

                  see.

    Is it what you thought,

    Is is what you hoped?

My life is not in your hands,

You don't know anything about me.

    I have a child,

                 yes, indeed I do.

    Do you know what happened?

                 no, indeed you don't.

    But what can I say,

    I don't expect anything more

    from someone like you to

             Understand.

    My life is hard,

but that's not an excuse for me to

             Give Up.

    I stand up, proud.

    Proud of my life,

    Proud of my hard work,

    Proud of my child,

    Proud of Myself.

Look through my eyes and tell me what you

               see.

    You see a Mother,

    working so hard.

    You see a child,

    loving so much.

    You see a man,

    sticking by their side.

    Say what you must,

but you will never know the real story of my

               life.

everyone of us has a life story behind. eyes language are always the most honest and sincere. if somone loves, he/she accepts the beloved as they are, whatever the life story behind that beloved is. i dont see any shame in being a mother and a working hard lady, that should be something counted in your own good. i see it is an advantage in you. i like how you are proud of that. very nice poem with sweet flow and nice images.
