I Left My Cares Upon The Clouds

I Left My Cares Upon The Clouds

A Poem by Adam Latham

I left my cares upon the clouds
That drifted slowly up on high,
And watched unburdened from the ground
As each one floated gently by.

The breeze shall carry them afar,
Across the bluebell covered lea,
Beyond the winking Evenstar
And on towards the rolling sea.

My heart's world weariness has waned
And leaps instead to find release,
A soul that once was vexed and pained
Can now perhaps revisit peace.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! The title is the kind of line that makes every other writer wish they'd crafted that bit of gracefulness! I love watching the sky & clouds, but never seem to find such amazing words to describe it as you have here. I love the way your message gives us a visual hint of how it is where you live. And being a rhyme-aholic myself, I'm admiring your perfectly-crafted rhymes that never feel like a reach (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie
