Collective Smile

Collective Smile

A Poem by gypsynight

She curses each angel with a smile.
Plucking and perforating each feather from her fragile wings.
She only looks back to take each blissful smile before she is gone.

He holds the infant in the smile on his face.
New life disappearing and withering without a chance.
He can not stay together or even watch his smile fade.

They climb walls with the smiles that they forget to use.
Only to fall and trip over words that are twisted and tangled together.
They collect smiles just to keep happiness at bay, and pain far away.

But you can not live life without smiling through each day.
No matter what takes that smile away.

Oh, smiles that hiccup from ones lips, they come and go as they like, with no warning or intent. I love how blissful they can be at moments, im sure you have ran across some your self

lot of truth and wisdom in this with good imagery. "They collect smiles just to keep happiness at bay, and pain far away." love the ending - so true.
