Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek

A Poem by Ronda
"

About a relationship that was back and forth, always a struggle.

"

I am counting to ten
covering my eyes,

standing with my face

against the old maple tree

The smell of
mold

mustiness
bark
consumes my nose;
the air is stagnant

Whispering to myself
"I must give you ample time to hide.
I know you will find a good place,
you always do"

Moist anticipation
tickels my

cheeks, wondering which

briar patch I will crawl

through to find you this time

It is a rare
for me to come through
without a bloody mess
on my flawed persona

Whispering
"Ready or not hear I come."

Looking and desperatly
searching for you on
the desolate landscape
dried up sage and echos

A glimpse of a shadow
and there you are,
inside the sentient clad steel trap
sitting as bait
