Sister

Sister

A Poem by Ronda
"

This is about a very good friend of mine who is Crow Indian, while I am Dutch. I miss her very much.

"

The winds blow the symphony
of our ancestors
that fought, bled
and mingled long ago

I feel you in my blood
your life
your pain
your joy

We were sisters, you in I,
in a place centuries ago
bound by the love of our familial ways
bound by the pains of our upbringing

Your crow black hair;
mine so blond and dutch
we look so different
but it is you who I miss most

My sister
My friend
My confidant
My fellow gypsy

My partner in all adventure,
caught in the heavens under the
microscope of the eagles
knowing only what we know
to get us through another day
