Breezes sigh a new scent of something familiar as
the wise branches bend to caress and soothe me with a kiss of velvety,
green shade.
As the weathered path weeps rain behind me, the darkness
gains in the race with light leading to a finite point in
the rear view mirror.
You, a tanned pillar in
the growing distance, wearing your torn Levi's with that one hole in
the left knee, trying to
gain bare-footed composure
on a rocky driveway.
Eyes of green and blue, seeping every thought of raised voices and sweet
smiles thrown around in
the garden of fertility that we have shared.
That last moment of you spilling over uncontrollably, like your river that has overflowed with emotion in my yard alone, will
never be forgotten. |
