Loss of Love

Loss of Love

A Poem by Ashlyn Olivia

There's trouble afoot
The youth romanticizing
Love drenched in delusion
Aching bones
Sitting on sheets
Wreckage of the night before
Drugs and messy hair
Cigarretes in a pale light
Finding love under neon signs
Fighting then sex
Then back at it again
Distance and struggle
Simplicity, yet complicated
Lust has overcome
There is no honesty
No admitting to doing wrong
Excuses
Fake mental illness
Not everything is a f*****g movie
We allow ourselves to endure such pain
Thinking rebirth is sure to be a result
Misplacing our faith
In those who lay none down for us
It is a terrible tragedy
We have lost truth, transparency,
Joy, acceptance, and the ability to fight
We have lost love

well, hmmmm
and more hmmmm
makes me ponder if "love" was even in the equation
sounds like more of acquaintance for benefits relationship
because doesn't even sound like friendship was in the equation either

that was my spin on it, but what do I know (i'll tell ya, I know nothing)

thanks for the writ
