Drifter's Remorse

Drifter's Remorse

A Poem by Ashlyn Olivia

I replace the moon in the sky
With a charm hanging from the wind chime
You don't know it, but a peace settles within me
When I think of your face
Though you have gone away
Now I am alone
With a decaying soul
Hold me
With your arms that are miles away
Say it's okay
Those nights we laughed
Those nights we cried
All the times we tried
Seeing eye to eye
It's not fair
But it is
You needed your space
It's not fair
But it is
I still need your grace
Come back to me

Poignant and heartfelt words, Love how it starts with replacing the moon with a wind chime charm, I could almost hear the tinkling as I read it. Flows beautifully and is full of softness and whispered pleas. Superb.
