"I feel"

Lost in a sea of emotions
I wonder back to you...
In my mind
I yearn to find
old feelings... brand new.

Only a few took my breath
gave me chills
made me sigh...
I close my eyes
I'm there... again by your side.

I never saw eyes like yours
never tasted such a kiss
I wanted it to last all time
I needed you to miss.

Silent nights fill my head
with memories of you
a carefree boy
young and free
my heart so over-joyed.

Another comes to mind just now
long rides...
building up
no romance ahead of time
just us in that pick-up truck.

But oh how my tummy tingled...
how my breathing shallow-ed.
Again eyes my soul did know
melting me so mellow.

A country boy, a country guy
a country man I've known
Each I've loved
in my own way
In my heart they're sown.

I smile now while looking back
"What could have been?" I say
with all the memories
in my heart
