The Greatest Lovers

The Greatest Lovers

A Poem by Gypsy Dreamer
"

For my daughter and my son in law in heart.

"

A girl in the world
becoming a woman.
A guy she see's
with sun streaked hair.
He see's her back
they look away
and then they both
stop and stare.
They laugh pretending
to not notice the other.
Not knowing they
would someday be
The Greatest Lovers.
Trips to the oceans
to Gatlinburg
to their cabin
to worlds unheard.
A fairy tale story
of a magical love,
Kisses under stars
and God above.
She's scared of the dark
he lights her way,
meeting her anywhere
her path may stray.
Fun with their friends,
family too.
So close, so happy
never unglued.
He's rugged so tough
a hunter at heart
a four-wheeling devil
with a five star start.
His dimples deep
when he smiles that smile
that brightens her life
her heart, her miles.
Her long blonde hair
her big blue eyes
far surpass
the beautiful sky.
She hunts with her man
she four-wheels too.
What he does...
she can do too.
...and then
A dark cloud
comes their way,
causes a love
to slip away.
The other is covered
in darkness and gloom.
No where to turn
his world will not bloom.
Never in millions
and millions of years
not through millions
and millions of tears
could anyone
 ever believe
there could be another
for together they're free.
If a book was written
it would say on the cover
Wiley and Bethany
The Greatest Lovers.

This was beautiful damn near bend on inspiring and so heartfelt that I shutter to ask if there was an inspired note in this. But this, this was just, I can not even say what came to my heart while reading.

Beautifully told. I dig the crossover between the modern and primitive imagery like ancestral memory coming through. Indeed the greatest lovers are the ones that can do stuff together as equals. Equality is so important for the fullest and most passionate expression of unity. To share that single beautiful harmonious conciousness is the quest! Yet in modern relationships men and women are often so divided by delusions. I love that image of the lovers hunting together. Reminds me of the two main characters from the movie Avatar. Makes me wonder if a woman ever picked up a spear and went hunting with her lover. Instead of the commonly accepted view (mostly pushed by male scientists) that primitive men did all the hunting and women did all the gathering.) There is some evidence to suggest that there was more equality between men and women in pre-industrial civilisation. Do you know of any mythlogy that talks about this? Anything in Gypsy folk lore?
