Battles Lost and Battles Won

Battles Lost and Battles Won

A Poem by Gypsie

In the darkness of my night a glowing ember shown.

Not knowing where to run or turn, fears resides within.

With trepidation, I do step into the vast unknown.

Feeling lost within myself, dark and dreary night.

Flailing, grasping, holding tight to what I've always known.

Whispers echo within my mind from battles long ago.

Rains fall down, washing clean those ancient fields of war.

New combat rages deep inside stirring olden pangs.

Tearing away the leaves of hurt sheltered for so long.

Every passing moment of each new golden day;

horrors are lain to rest in musty, stinking graves.
