My Daemon

My Daemon

A Poem by Gypsie

Precious daemon torturing my soul, leaving me without life’s breath.

Snake whose forked tongue hisses words of loving kindness.

Scorpion sting, whose poisonous venom courses through my veins.

The dark veil of night closes once again on your parting.

Hearken your wild dogs, angry and filled with toothsome hunger,

Devouring my fleshy soul in the curtained darkness.

Vile reptile, creature of despair, I must love you even in this eternal night.

Odious beast who holds my heart, I must give myself to you as your poison reaches its mark.

Villain who has taken my will, I do not ask for the light to enter unto these eyes.

Vampire of my spirit, I give of my flesh freely.

Glorious fiend, sending my love crashing against the rocks to end in despair.

Thief who has made me to love, I beg for the darkness that we may once again meet.

Stars will not shine for me in your absence.

Sun will not blaze away this knowledge of undoing.

Yet, how you must feel justified in your deeds.

Hello Gypsie,

What deliciously dark piece. Not that i am enjoying your suffering, well maybe a bit. I like your construction and flow, although the flow does change a bit as you approach the end. Excellent write.

Regards,

Matthew
