Laying here in my bed
Darkness surrounding me
The only sound is Alexa
Fake rain hitting a rooftop
Eyes so heavy but cannot close
Nonstop thoughts burning my brain
Covid running the world
With no end in site
This new pain will never stop
The old is gone forever

I think you sum up the new reality very adroitly. The recorded rain is a soothing white noise, a distraction from not having the real thing to walk in, with a close - not distanced- friend. What is "social" about social distancing? New speak for anti social distancing. But, we all want to stay alive.

[Relic]

There are so many people who are gloomy and dejected from the present times we live in. I've heard those fake rain sounds and lost sleep. I guess we have to look toward the future and prepare for better days. In the meantime...rain is hitting the roof.
