In the Woods

In the Woods

A Chapter by Sor
"

The six friends and Mariel go through the Beyond Life Woods.

"
Even though Pellimore is an optimistic, she couldn't help but feel scared as she entered the woods. Everyone else seemed depressed, except Ember. Pellimore and Ember are good friends, so the two are quite optimistic.
"Hey you bags of despair," Pellimore started, "how's the depression up there, better or worse?"
The order of them went: Mariel, Terrence, Fawn, Silvermist, Tinker Bell, Ember, and Pelli brought up the rear.
Terrence decided to respond to Pellimore's jibe: "Oh, it's way better, right guys?"
Tink nodded. "Yes, Terrence, you're right," she said. "It's too bad the depression is worse over there. I want you to be so depressed."
"Tinker Bell!" Silvermist pretended to be hurt. "That so awful that you want your friends to feel bad."
 They all laughed at this.
 "Let's eat lunch," Terrence said.
"Did we even pack a lunch?" Ember asked.
 "No..."
"Great!" Tink exclaimed, but everyone thought she was being sarcastic.
"What's so great?" Terrence decided to ask.
"That I see a great big blackberry bush right behind you!"
"Really? Where?" everyone wanted to know.
 "There!"
So after a 'lunch' of blackberries, they all set out again. But then a storm started to rage.
"Join wrists!" Terrence yelled above the tornado.
Tink was first to grab on and she held on tight, drawing a smile from Terrence. After some time, everyone except Pellimore had joined up (*note that Mariel didn't need to because she was on the ground*). She reached out for Fawn, but then her head hit a branch. She started feeling dizzy.
"Pelli!" she heard their screams and shouts, and she wanted to move toward them, but she couldn't. She only saw grey. She thought she felt something on her arm, when she knew no more.
 "I got her!" yelled Fawn.
Tinker Bell started gripping Terrence's wrist tighter.
"I won't let you slip," he promised.
She took much comfort in his words. She thought it was creepy how comforting it was. He was her best friend, so that might have something to do with it. Then she remembered what  Pellimore had told her when she was teasing her: "I guess we see a truth you don't." Were she and Ember right? They couldn't be. No, they weren't. She was just exhausted, that's all. Then she felt a horrible pain in the back of her head. No, not me too, she thought. She started getting tunnel vision. She felt her grip loosening. She tried to hold on, but soon she was in the middle of blackness.
