My history...

A Story by Ray
"

for the contest....

"
I couldn't really understand what was happening at the time. I was so young, so lost and innocent, how could I have known ? It was like a flash in movies, you see the scene for a split second and it's only later that you realize what it meant, what this zoom on a certain object meant, what this slash of a sword through a body was to do. And once you knew, well, you were horrified, fascinated in front of the screen and couldn't do anything. That was me. And I got blamed for it. For not understanding. And I was hunted, and I was a hunter, and everything I'd ever known was falling apart. So, nobody had a right to blame me, I was the effect, not the cause. And the cause was, well I'd rather not know what it was.

It all started on the boat...

...heading to the Unknown World. I've heard many stories of this new place just across a massive body of water. A place where man is to be free from the crown that weighs so heavy on the common man of England.

Many have been getting sick and several have gotten their sea legs days ago. As the mighty vessel rocks back and forth from side to side and frontwards and back the conditions under the deck were an unsanitary mess. Most aboard this ship were bought, but many this was their sentence for committing crimes. I swear, I had now ay of knowing those were the "Crowns" horses. They were lest in the hallow unattended and I needed to make some money. So I took them only to be caught in town in possession.

I still think the magistrate could have given me a labor sentence working the fields of one of thousands of farm lands owned by the "Crown", but I guess by sending to the Unknown World was more beneficial to all parties.

I am still contemplating whether I want to continue your piece here and enter your contest. However, I do have to say this... If you are still writing this way when you are my age (46), you should have a bazillion novels, short stories, poetry, or something. You write extremely well. Your style, Stream of Consciousness, is much like Virginia Woolf and William Goyen. Best of luck in your writing career. (100/100)
