~ Forgotten ~A Poem by RayBooks are sometimes left aside...Underneath the willow trees and in the dark Half shoved into the earth Is a book With red leather covers. It’s nothing really beautiful It doesn’t have anything written on it It’s just an old piece of work Long forgotten there
They say it came from a wise-man The one that saw the little child But hardly anyone believes it Who can blame them for it Something they weren’t there to see Some things long forgotten Through the gate of time
We don’t remember Our memories do not reach as far back Still it doesn’t mean we can’t trust it For certain it’s just a book Is there a story behind it ? Well, open it and see for yourself Things long forgotten
It’s just an old piece of work And what make it less than any other history ? If we conclude as you do History isn’t true Napoleon didn’t live Because what other proof do you have to give Than paintings and writings ?
Some things have long been forgotten But a time will come When the doubt has fallen And that memories in our minds shall revive. © 2012 RayAuthor's Note
