Hello In There

Hello In There

A Poem by Lady-N-Red

Hello in there, hello in there
Do you care, do you care?
It’s me again! It’s me, just Gwen!
But look close my friend she is not there
You see just her face, her smile, her hair
She is hurt and all crumpled up inside
The part that loved has all but died
She floats away within her dreams
The her you see is not at all what it seems
She smiles by day and cries by night
Sleep only comes after a tremendous fight
She clings tight to those she loves and hugs and kisses
These are the things in life that she most terribly misses
The world is so dark and empty when her eyes do close
She prays it will not be dark when she finally goes
So remember when you see her smiling face
That she is floating loose in some other place
You must climb deep inside to find the Her in there
Touch her hand, her heart, let her know you care
Hello in there, Hello in there!
Do you care, do you care?

What an emotional piece. Reminds me of looking in the mirror at myself not too long ago. "The part that loved has all but died..." Touches such a raw nerve. Beautiful.

Wow very gut wrenching work, the loneliness is so very ell expressed and the need for acceptance even though you wish you didn't want it. It's all a cruel part of human nature... first thing I've read from you and I am very impressed.
