Peace does not existA Story by GwenJournal entry
As it smoulders silently our lips are drawn to its power. We embrace the toxins with a faint smile exposing our pleasure. The swarms of smoke make our vision dazed, though we stay focused, unhindered. As we inhale numerous carcinogens, acknowledging every single one, our conscience pleads with us for it to be our last one.
We ponder what is worse, to destroy ourselves willingly or to unknowingly be crushed by another? Inside out chest the most precious organ beats rapidly. Helplessly it screams, it will not be able to oxygenate at this pace for the much longer, let alone the foreseeable future. You erupt with laughter, isn't this your exact intention? Temptation stands by, you nearly took his hand a few times. But there is too many condemmers, they would not forgive you. 'We perish at Gods' will' they say. Deeply immersed in their flawed views they claim to be a direct path to salvation, realistically, they are more like the carnivorous devil in disguise. 'Where is he then' you scream at the alter, pacing the marble tiles. But this almighty God never shows his b*****d face, leaving humanity to fight on its own. 'Peace is on its way; wait for it'. You did wait for it, you don't know how but now you've found it. Twenty years have gone by and the abrasions on your wrist from those cigarettes have faded, and you owe your life to the devils who pleaded with you to not take temptations hand. © 2015 GwenAuthor's Note
