Their Side? What Side? My Side!

Their Side? What Side? My Side!

A Poem by guy drori

Dining

with the angels

white -

dancing with the devils

black.

Welcome her! Milady--

and better watch your back.

Once the angels offered her

to join the force of light--

dismissed them with a wave of hand

and ordered them to leave her sight.

Demons once have told her

to darkness she must bow.

She giggled as she said

“not even when I’m dead.”

Cunningly deceits the good--

Evil souls she lures.

The only side she plays for

is the one that is

of hers.

we have to look out for ourselves in this world today....others won't ...we are our own team...and sometimes winning seems a futile proposition...so many forces working against...the world is so different to me...from the sixties...i miss then.

really good poem...

The devotion to self is loud and clear in this. Such a comment on current times; yet timeless as well. Do we really understand what we are doing when moving too fluidly back and forth between good and evil in service of self?

guy drori,
Interesting comparison. How anyone can play with dark and light-evil and good is really beyond me! So here we have a perplexing person not admitting to serve anyone but herself. Hmm. The truth is I think that we all are like that sometimes but it is difficult to live long-term. Delightful poem. I saw something which was a paradox. Blessings Kathy
