See All That is Me

I cannot be defined--

Every day a different mind.

Sometimes I’m in spotlight--

sometimes out of sight.

 

Yesterday

a snake I was

with venom in my eyes.

Today I am a spider

weaving webs of lies.

A week ago

a crow--

vindictive ever so.

A month ago

a lonely wolf

ruthless to survive.

 

Once I was a horse;

a joyful, noble steed.

Tomorrow a hyena--

on the injured I shall feed.

 

Solely one I need not be--

all of them is me.

Who in seven days?

You and I need wait and see.

I like how you put it all together--the description and comparison make this piece more profound. Although some people would think of those as merely masks, I'd rather believe we have them in us and that we "transform" however we wish to respond to a certain situation.

Well guy, so far I've only read 3 of your poems, but I came away highly impressed! You are different, original and quite skilled with words. You make me feel a bit self conscious of my poetic efforts. I don't recall seeing your name on this site before (tho' I only visit now and then) so I'm assuming you're new to this site.
