In the Shadows and in the Light

Something i just wrote. the girl I'm talking about has been my friend for a long time, she had liked me but every time i screwed up. tell me what you think of the poem! enjoy and thank you!

i have become this person

this person that can be liked by anyone

this person that can act accordingly

using girls for entertainment

i can make a girl blush or i can make her angry

i have total control over any of my relationships

I’m manipulating, lying and fooling around

for simple entertainment

but what you don’t know

is that at the end of the day

you’re still my dreams, my world

you are still all and everything i care about

i might be dating a girl now,

getting numbers here and there

flirting and making jokes with anyone

but that is all in vain  

because no matter how hard i try,

no matter how hard i strive, 

i cannot replace you,

like you have replaced me

right now i am your friend,

being there whenever you need me

and also when you don’t

I’m there for you,

even though you’re not there for me,

even though you don’t know all

i protect you and i care for you

in the shadows or in the light

All i want is to be with you

but i can’t, so

i seek comfort with other

but it’s not the same

i see you with these guys

these boys you fall for

all breaking you

one for one

if only you loved me back

if only i could be the MAN 

the man that you need

the man you deserve

but that is selfish, and i know it

so i suck it up, and be your friend

i will be there for you always

in the shadows and in the light.

What do you think of my writing style? how could i learn to put the words in better? (also, not an excuse but a reason: I'm a native English speaker, but i like writing in English).
