Hope

Hope

A Poem by Drew

theres a pain you hold deep inside

like a weed lacking pesticide

with each passing day, it grows

if it'll ever stop, no one knows

the larger it becomes

the more joy it shuns

and doubts infest themselves within

causing you to believe, you will never win

desperation soon drives you

soon you may be split in two

no longer feeling like you

just try to hold on and make it through

one day i will come

to the weed, hell i will come from

and with me i bring all it's infernals

your throe will not be eternal

as vast as the sea

is my surity

that one day you will see

happiness is meant to be

My favourite one of yours, everything is not lost as long as hope remains. Wonderful words and worderful text - the image i have while reading it, is a Knight in armor fighting for his life in a battle where all seems to be lost but still keeps his sword high. BrAVO.

While, admittedly, I find rhyme schemes to be annoying from time to time, everyone has their own opinions and mine isn't any more worthwhile on the topic than anyone elses. I do like how it starts off very dark, making me think the poem is going to be about a lack of hope and then it ends a little brighter showing that hope is real.
