Permit of Freedom

Permit of Freedom

A Poem by Drew

i see you

hiding in your corner

that dark place

where your unseen

where no one can see you cry

where no one can fail

to understand your pain

what is it like?

to feel your pain

unshared by anyone?

is that wall you lean against

just your cain

not to silence the pain

but to keep you from crashing

down into the ground

what is it like?

to feel your pain

unshared by anyone?

will you not come into the light?

crawl if you must

so i can see the pain

those leeches hidden on you

so the light can burn them off

and i will hold you

i would throw your cain aside

and lift you into my arms

to not only keep you from the ground

but to take the strain from you knees

imagine what it'd be like?

to feel your pain

at last shared by someone

i can be that someone

i can be the someone

to hold you high

and take away your pain

i can be that someone

i wish you'd let me be

that someone

why can't i be that someone?

please, let me be that someone
