Eclispe

A Poem by Drew

with each passing day

the realization sinks

deeper and deeper

i watch and decay

as the world seizes these days

and stretch's them longer and longer

the longer the days seem

the more the image resides

more and more it becomes

clearer and clearer

as the world spins

more things fall

out of my vision

like rain from the clouds

eventually all the rain is gone

and every cloud with it

leaving the very lonely sun

more beautiful than anything else

and equaly distant

but the more you vision is fixed on it

the more you hurt

then the night comes

and the pain would logically cease

instead it stays

as the cold sinks in

and the darkness transforms

everything to nothing

in the night sky

you see all the stars

illuminating your path

one step ahead of you

at a time

each star reminds you of the beautiful sun

each like the sun

but none that can bring the same warmth

the same guidance

the same joy

that you feel

every single day

the thought of the sun

reminds you how cold

it is for the undone

so you stay paralyzed

for eternity

waiting for the sunrise

that may never come

has the earth been abandoned?

or simply left neglected

and unspun

your hope slowly and slowly

breakds down

like anything ever built by man

in time returns to sand
