The double meaning (which I hope is really there and not my imagination) grabbed me. The universality of one thing feeding off another. Or that which feeds us may also consume.
I have never been one for haiku, they are so short I feel restricted, but I really enjoyed this one. To feel sympathy for the candle, I never would have thought of that. Nice work.
Oh, this is very interesting. Killing the candle by feeding the flame. Such an insightful view. And so appropriate to so many things in life. I am impressed. That doesn't happen that frequently, but this is marvelous.
