A Part Of My Soul

A Part Of My Soul

A Poem by Giulia King

 I crave love.
The deepest, purest, rawest form of love.
The kind of love where it hurts.
I crave you.

My ray of light
You are the sunlight through the windows of my room.
You are someone I can write about endlessly,
never getting tired of writing about how you are my sole galaxy in this dark universe.

  My beloved one,
I want to write about how every word that falls off your lips
can put poetry to shame.

I'm always soft for you,
you brought my stone cold heart to life.
I want to kiss you lazily like we have all the time in the world
and also urgently, like there’s no tomorrow.
I may not be able to hold you in my arms forever,
but trust me when I say;
you’ll forever be in my words,
 in my poetry,
in my heart,
and always, a part of my soul.

I crave the love that doesn't hurt - the love that's always there - the love that will envelop us without expecting a single thing in return - the love that comes when you finally put aside your craving / wanting / need ... now that's an endless love

I like the sentiment of your poem ... best wishes for the muse X

After reading your poem, I immediately added it to my favorites. I loved it! I have never come across a piece that so perfectly describes the intense longing and selflessness that comes with being in love. Wonderfully and masterfully done.

I'm glad I could put a smile on your face. You're welcome!
"You are the sunlight through the windows of my room."

Fav lines.

Emotive. Descriptive. Almost divine.

Maybe it's because I'm writing from a dark room myself and this made me briefly feel a light.

"I want to kiss you lazily like we have all the time in the world
and also urgently, like there’s no tomorrow."

I think this perfectly captures the scope of true love. The celestial and terrestrial. The poetic and prosaic.

Thank you for your lovely words and for always putting a smile on my face :)
I rarely use the word "sensual" in reviews, but this cusps that line between smoother than glass and bolder than bold... It flits between the ups and downs of passion within a pristine meter and flow... Very romantically penned... Gotta love love...

You are welcome dear Giullia.
It Says most things i struggle to put to words. I am more intoxicated with how each section begins with what appears to be a heading but to me sounds more like a different yet growing deeper statestage of love.

Thanks for the journey :-)
Well worth reading.

I'm so happy my piece took you on a journey! :) Thank you for reading!
You made me feel that passion and love you've described. I loved the third stanza most above all. This poem is heart touching. Beautifully written.

Enjoyed reading ths ☺
Awesome (check my reviews - I never use that word!)
But I guess you're preaching to the converted (n my case, having been lucky to have experienced this once in my life) - to clumsily use an oft coined phrase because you aren't 'preaching' per se...you're allowing the reader the feel that wondrous thing called love (in it's purest sense).
Awesome ! D****t - that's becoming annoying already.
