Patience

Patience

A Poem by Giulia King

She felt an unease heaviness in the wind.
"You're just another let down.
Another chapter full of mistakes."
Some people are novels,
the world will never get tired of reading, she thought.
He said she seemed like an old soul,
She told him she was just swoon by the moon.
Her eyes downcast and brimming,
With a broken voice she asked Time how long
it would take for him to put the pieces of her broken heart together.
"Patience, my loved one" said time,
"I'll teach you".
"I'm not everyone's cup of tea.
I don't connect to other souls easily."
She said as she put her hands on her face and started sobbing.
"Maybe life is this luxurious thing that is not meant for the weak-minded.
Un stimulated souls that are not entwined are unhappy."
She looked up at the starry night, tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Sometimes we create our own heartbreaks through expectation." Said Time
and laid a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Letting her know that she'll never be alone, whatever may come.

"Sometimes we create our own heartbreaks through expectation."

Really like this line.

It's interesting because you personify time, but in a comforting way.

Most of us think of time as, well, the grim reaper lol

Very tender write.

Love the image too.

This definitely reflects thoughts that have ran throughout everyone's mind at some point or another. The artwork is beautiful and goes perfectly with this piece.

I admire the you gave "time" a unique character
and the artwork reflects this well.

Thank you so much for reading, Pia! Sorry for the delay :)
Perhaps you aren't as "invisible" as you thought...

Most don't seem to know how to reach let alone for WHAT to reach for - and many are too into their own worlds to listen to or share of another's. Personally, I do lil things for others that I DON'T HAVE TO DO just because I can... without expecting back - but that's me most times.

""I'll teach you".
"I'm not everyone's cup of tea.
I don't connected to other souls easily."

Very wise and realistic. Time will tell, time will heal and time will make us realize facts we ignored. Wonderful...:).............

And yet there are times when even patience gives up... I like how you compared people to novels.. Indeed, some people are like that.. I know I'm one of the readers ;)

A lovely piece, well penned, Gullia :)
