A whisper In The Wind

A whisper In The Wind

A Poem by Giulia King

As she watches the clouds soar across the pink sky.
A light breeze goes through her hair.
Leaving her breathless.
"I miss you," she finally breathes out.
"Colorful life, take me away.
Lift me up from the depth of my soul.
Take me to a beautiful place where the moon smiles
and a galaxy of stars are in your eyes." She whispers.
As she closes her eyes,
she feels the wind whisper back to her.
"Follow the voice of your own heart.
Even if it leads you off the path of finding yourself
In due time, you will find yourself,
as well as the other missing piece of your heart."
She gives the sky a shy smile.
. . .
She feels the sun rays on her face,
a new day started to dawn.
Another beautiful day to be a victim of her own daydreams.
Beautiful, but annihilating.

"A whisper in The Wind"
Giullia King,
It takes courage to face our own positive as well as negative character traits. This poem reminded of the place within our life where we see ourselves openly. We can deny the things which we do and say which may cause trouble in our lives. Others may not know or see but we do. It is good to sometimes be reminded that life is about growth and not being stagnant.
The thread running through this poem which your presented which is important has to do with our own decision to stand for what is within our own heart and to act from this place. Beautiful poem!
Blessings,
Kathy

I really enjoyed this, it conjured imagery quickly in my mind and continued to push me down the path of your words. Lovely poetry

Whenever I come across this title, I think of words turning into a write. Is a whisper just a wish in the wind? Sounds like the beginning of something. Valentine

A whisper indeed more a shout in imagery and message

Interesting piece here...rich with imagery as it tells a story...and an unexpected ending. Nicely done.

refreshing read and very nicely done as always...

Despite your dreary description in your author's notes, I beg to differ. Your poem is brilliant & full of imagery that resonates with everything I've been feeling these days. I've been wanting to write something like this, so thanks for the inspiration!

I love this idea most of all, very creative & realistic & unexpected: "Even if it leads you off the path of finding yourself. In due time, you will find yourself" . . . this is exactly how I've been feeling as I try to take my life back from some long years of disability. Thanks for the uplifting ideas, well-stated!

Thank you for dropping by, Phil! :)
Gullia Hi. A wonderful flow and lovely imagery, as I've now come to expect from your pen. Your intro 'just ....' is a little dismissive; I doubt it was anything 'just words ...' at all!

Anyway, as per my usual habit, I can't resist offering a couple of suggestions
- the 'she whispers' at the end of the 8th line is completely unnecessary, and especially jarring given the 'whisper' that follows a couple of lines later
- I would similarly drop the first 'finding yourself' reference. The meaning immediately becomes clear from the very next line
- final verse line 2; to fit with the tense and also the feeling, I think 'starting' to dawn would be better [IMHO]

As with all and any edit suggestions, you're totally entitled to see them as results of a reader losing the plot, not grasping your sense, or just being plain wrong! I enjoyed it very much!
