My Tired Heart

My Tired Heart

A Poem by Giulia King

Frank Sinatra - I've got you under my skin, starts to play.
As we slow dance into infinity,
I look into your eyes and realize they're my favorite color.
I shake my head and close my eyes.
Suddenly it all made sense.
When my eyes met his,
I realized that forever was never going to be enough with him.
As I open them up I realize I'm alone in the dark.
It's always about you, you know.
The daydreams, a hundred tiny daydreams about you, about us.
I find myself getting lost with you in a world that doesn't even exist.
You're everything to me, the only star that remains brighter than others.
Being without you is pure darkness,
I suppose it will all make sense someday.
My intuition is telling me there will be better days.
Until then I will keep on dancing, perfecting my curves and moves.

Hear me, my tired heart,
Some things never change and that's the beauty of the world.
After all it's true, I've got you under my skin.

It felt all so perfect to me...
Some things....never change.... and that's the beauty of the world..........
One day the loved one will realize how much really you loved that person.......
Waiting.....and waiting... for the day when my prince will see himself through my eyes.. only then he'll realize, how much special he's to me...
great piece!!!!!

It's my pleasure dear!!!
After reading this I felt the gloom for days. Longing for that someone made my heart felt tired like losing a strength to carry on. I accepted it, somethings can't never be erase or change it will only fade away, It will fade away. Very well written Gullia King this took me awhile to give a review.

Sinatra always makes it better.
This piece is rich in imagery, and speaks to the 'tired heart' in us all. Nicely done.

Thank you for reading :)
"Hear me, my tired heart,
Some things never change and that's the beauty of the world."
Accepting that some things never change is the most difficult part, I think.. I wonder if it's a beauty of the world or a curse for us to bear.... Again, my thoughts ;) Loved the feel of this one! It has got a soothing quality to it, which I definitely felt if not the others.. Good work :)

You are welcome, Gullia ☺
Funny how listening to certain kinds of music or singers we can drift off into another existence while that tune is playing. Valentine

There is something undeniably romantic about stars...definitely a magic about this. Passion filled writing. Starz x

*a tiny edit suggestion - line 3 'their' should be 'they're'

I'm always inspired by the theme of the universe and stars when used in poetry and prose and you've captured something beautiful here.

Gave me chills.
